Freicoin: Bitcoin with demurrage

In all honesty has anyone considered mirroring the NMC service in this system? Freicoin would be far superior to NMC and doubly serve to address much of the flawed implementation? The biggest being that NMC is self destructive, whereas Freicoin is capable of recycling spent coins.

Just a thought, and it helps add that little bit of extra intrinsic value which is very healthy for any coin system. You could make Your system even more user friendly by piggy backing off traditional DNS such that a DNS lookup from standard dns might be 'freicoin.org/<sitename> but a lookup directly in your system might look like <sitename>.frei or some such domain like address.

I've thought about it too, I think it's very important to make cryptocurrencies as useful as possible. I'd love to see a Freicoin/Encoin/GEM implementation with the features of Namecoin and also an integrated web of trust.

I need to read more re all of this ... nmc in particular I never heard of ... can anyone point me to a ref. I do agree that the way forward will be a mix. The new paradigm is always a clever mix of a couple pre-existing dynamics. Speaking of which ... we already have a proof of concept for Gesell I.e. Woergl ... we could just use bitcoin tech to relaunch as close of a recreation of that project as possible ...
